Tate the Brave

Tate's first visit with Santa was a little frightening. Luckily, Santa is used to crying babies on his lap and it didn't stop him from bringing Tate, Lucie, and Ryan lots of presents for Christmas. Tate had a nice holiday hanging with his cousins. Ryan and Tate showed off their matching outfits, and Lucie willingly read Christmas stories to the little guy.

Aunt Jenny & Uncle Zach's Visit

Tate had a great time when Aunt Jenny and Uncle Zach came to visit. They told him stories about their recent trips to India and Paris, and Uncle Zach translated Tate's favorite CD, "French Playground", so we now know what we are singing. (Voila! lil Maurice is en les vacances!) Their visit coincided with the first night of Hanukkah and lucky Tate was able to celebrate with Aunt Jenny, Uncle Zach, and Uncle Josh. By the end of their trip, Jenny and Zach were pros with the diaper changes. Please come back and visit any time!!

Tate Logan -- Office Nose Tackle

In the early 2000's Reebok released an ad-campaign featuring Terry Tate "Office Linebacker"

Based on Tate's two-month check-up at the pediatrician on Thursday, Reebok may want to consider relaunching that ad campaign featuring another Tate -- our very own Tate Logan. Tate tipped the scales at 12 lbs and 15 ounces. In a month he's gone from the 50th percentile in weight to the 75th. Tate also measured 24 1/4 inches, good for the 90th percentile in height.

No word yet on Tate's 40 time or Wonderlic score, but we're pleased to announce that Tate received a clean bill of health, even after his five shots.

The Magic 8-Ball

It's been 8-weeks since Tate was born. While the time has flown by so quickly, Rachel and I can't even remember or imagine our lives before our little buddy arrived.

To mark his 8-week birthday, yours truly recently conducted an exclusive interview with the young tot. Since Tate's answers were hard to understand, I used a Magic 8-Ball to interpret.

Q: Tate, you recently met your cousins Lucie & Ryan over Thanksgiving. Did you have fun with them?
A: Yes

Q: You also met Luca, the dog of friends Dave and Ashley. Given your mom's love of dogs and your dad's fear of them, do you think you'll be a dog lover?
A: Cannot predict now

Q: We've been noticing you're smiling all the time now. When you wake up. After you feed. On your swing. We love it. Is there more of that to come?
A: All signs point to yes

Q: You've also been feeding so well. Last reports have you at 12 lbs 2 ounces. We hear weight is sometimes correlated with sleeping through the night. Do you think you're ready to sleep through the night?
A: Don't count on it

Q: Since I went back to work, you've been spending your days with mom. I understand you've been spending your time playing on the activity mat, hanging out with your friend lamby, and going for walks. Have you been having fun?
A: Without a doubt
