Being Tate Logan

Recently it's been harder and harder to update this blog. While a safe (and correct) explanation would involve a certain father's laziness, I'd prefer to attribute it to Tate's busy schedule. As you can see from the pictures, a typical day for Tate involves:
a) Hanging out in his new Exersaucer (put together brilliantly by Rachel);
b) Reading/eating books with family members (seen here with his grandmother, Gigi);
c) Flashing a smile and playing during naptime; and
d) Spending time with friends (pictured here with the adorable Miss Finley).

Lucky Charms Wardrobe

The advent of March Madness has turned our house as superstitious as a dirty sock wearing baseball pitcher. When Tate wore his lucky Stanford onesie (thanks Via!!) on Sunday for the berth announcements, Stanford slipped into the last spot in the tournament, phew! But I made a critical error yesterday in not dressing him in the same outfit and the results were unfortunate. Jason and Uncle Josh are taking the Stanford loss very well. Luckily, Tate has a UCLA tee courtesy of Josh and Rosy, so we won't make the same mistake twice. He is living in the shirt for the next two weeks! (Fellow Jumbos, have no fear, our Jumbos gear is making an appearance soon once the spring regatta season starts!)

Week at the beach

Tate and I just returned from a week visiting my parents. Joining us were Aunt Meg and Cousins Lucie and Ryan with short visits from Uncle Chris and Uncle AJ. Gigi and Papa hosted a musseling party last Sunday, an annual event since they were newlyweds, where we harvest mussels from the rocks at low tide and cook them at the beach in Gigi's famous garlic and white wine broth over a camping stove. Tate can't enjoy the mussels, but he certainly had fun watching Jason sample all the cookies and cake at the dessert table!

During the week, Tate, Lucie and Ryan kept us on our toes as they took over Gigi and Papa's house. We had a great time hitting the park and beach, making cookies, and playing with all the toys at my parents' house. Lucie and Ryan were diligent in making sure Tate's activity mat was well stocked with toys and accessories. What good little buddies! We can't wait for the next visit with the gang!
